It’s crazy how we chase approval like it’s candy, but in reality, it's just a sugar rush that leaves us craving more. Learning to validate ourselves is like switching from fast food to a home-cooked meal.
Brilliant article. This is something I’ve been working on this year. The core of healing our need for external validation truly is healing within. I really appreciate your tips for learning to validate and trust ourselves—super helpful!

Validation is DEFINITELY something I have always struggled with.
Someone told me today... "You are full of wisdom, trust yourself."
It was exactly what I needed to hear.
Plus, in my family... It's like a game, if it's evident that someone wants or needs validation, people will gang up on them and purposely withold it.
Not healthy behavior at all.
If I'm being honest, I have gotten better in some areas at NOT needing or seeking validation, and summer areas still need work.
And ... If I'm being honest, there are certain areas I've gotten better in and then it's like I relapse when things get really stressful.
Anyway, GREAT POST! THANKS!
Great work, Dan (again)! I have been waiting for this particular information in an organised manner. Perfectly accomplished! Thank you for this.
Highly relatable on many levels; thanks for this well-reasoned post
